The Erasmus Mundus programme "Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering" (COSSE) is a joint initiative of four European universities: - KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden - Technical University of Berlin, Germany - Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands - Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen- Nürnberg, Germany The field of computer simulations is of great importance for high-tech industry and scientific/engineering research, e.g. virtual processing, climate studies, fluid dynamics, advanced materials, etc. Often the field is referred to as the third pillar of science complementing theory and experiments. COSSE is a two-year master's programme offering a double degree from two universities. The students enter one of the universities and continue the second year at one of the other institutions in another country. COSSE offers education of the highest international standard as well as a unique experience of meeting different European cultures, languages, climate and nature. Student Scholarships For Third Country Students The Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for non-Europeans aim at strengthening European co-operation and international links in higher education by enabling students and visiting scholars from around the world to engage in postgraduate study at European universities. In the EMLE programme, this means that each year a number of non-European students will receive a grant of 24,000 € per selected student. Who is eligible? In principle any student from a non-European country is eligible. The distinction between 'European Students' and 'Third Country Students' is made in accordance with the criteria of the European Union. Symantec plans to begin accepting applications for the 2011 Fellowship in July 2010. The application deadline is December 18, 2010. Award decisions will be made in February 2011. - Symantec will award Symantec Research Labs Graduate Fellowships to outstanding Ph.D. and M.S. students who meet the eligibility criteria listed below. A key goal of the program is to fund innovative research that has real-world value, in areas of Symantec’s business interests in information security, availability, and integrity.
- Fellowship participants also gain first hand research and development experience through guidance and mentorship from a top scientist of Symantec Research Labs during the fellowship period. Each participant is also encouraged to spend a summer working with their mentor at Symantec on a research project in their area of interest.
Provisions of the Award- In the US, the fellowship award will cover 100% of tuition and fees for the recipient’s graduate school in the US. A stipend is provided to cover living expenses while in school
- In Europe, a stipend is provided to cover research and living expenses while in school.
- Mentors from Symantec Research Labs are paired with award recipients. The mentor is a top researcher who can provide ongoing technical guidance on the recipient’s research, during their graduate training as well as during summer internships at Symantec.
- All recipients will be encouraged to take a salaried summer internship with Symantec Research Labs (Mountain View, CA, Culver City, CA, or Sophia Antipolis, France).
- Each recipient will be given a laptop preloaded with Symantec software.
- Fellowships are awarded to recipients for one academic year and may be extended for a second year, based on the award recipient's continued exceptional academic standing, progress and achievement. Any such extensions will be granted solely at Symantec's discretion.
Eligibility Criteria- Applying students must attend a U.S. or European university in a Ph.D. or Master’s program focused on technology research. Exceptional graduating undergraduate seniors may also apply and final award is contingent on their acceptance to a graduate program.
- Preference will be given to students with a desire to work in an industrial research lab and those working on research projects likely to have real-world practical value to customers, in areas related to Symantec’s businesses of information security, availability, and integrity.
- Recipients will also be selected based on their overall potential for research excellence and their academic progress to-date as evidenced by publications.
- The scholarship awards will be made through the university and are not transferable to another academic institution.

The European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS) Fellowship Programme is an international researcher mobility programme offering 33 fellowships for the 2011/2012 academic year. It proposes 10-month residencies in one of the 14 participating Institutes: Berlin, Bologna, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Cambridge, Helsinki, Jerusalem, Lyons, Nantes, Paris, Uppsala, Vienna, Wassenaar. The MBA program at ESMT is built on both faculty and peer-to-peer learning, and the school is committed to diversity in the classroom. Erasmus Mundus scholarships allow third-country graduate students to follow the whole programme, i.e. they will receive a scholarship for the whole duration of the GEMMA programme. The GEMMA Consortium decides who receives an Erasmus Mundus scholarship on the basis of CVs, study and academic merits, motivation, recommendations, language skills, etc. The European Commission confirms this selection and officially assigns the grants. Eligibility: - Only candidates who have applied to and have been accepted by the GEMMA Consortium in accordance with its specific students' application and selection criteria, are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in GEMMA.
- Students can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship to the Erasmus Mundus master’s programme of their choice but the number of applications must be limited to maximum three different programmes.
- Scholarships can be awarded to students selected by the GEMMA consortium who come from a country other than the EU Member States, the EEA-EFTA States (Iceland, Norway, and Lichtenstein), Turkey, the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/99, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia)* and Switzerland, and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.
