Eiffel scholarships are awarded to foreign students for study in France towards a PhD or master’s degree, primarily in three areas: * engineering, * economics & management, * Law & political science. The program aim is to attract elite foreign students from developing countries. Amount of Eiffel Scholarship: Under the program 400 scholarships are offered every year. Master’s courses: Eiffel scholarship-holders on Master’s courses receive a monthly allowance of €1,181. In addition, the programme meets various expenses including return travel, health insurance and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance. PhD courses: Eiffel scholarship-holders on PhD courses receive a monthly allowance of €1,400. In addition, the programme meets various expenses including return travel, health insurance and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance. Eiffel scholarship allowance will be paid by direct bank transfer on the first working day of each month, from the start of your course onward. To receive your allowance, you will need to open a bank or postal account and notify Égide of the details. The students chosen are also given health coverage, travel expenses and cultural activities. Applications from students currently studying outside France will be given priority over those from students already studying in France. Application procedure Applications for Eiffel grants are submitted by French higher education centres from a shortlist of outstanding students they would like to enroll on their courses. Applications are not accepted from students themselves, or from non-French centres. Centers submit applications on behalf of candidate students consistent with programme objectives, in accordance with instructions and guidelines issued by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS) Fellowship Programme is an international researcher mobility programme offering 33 fellowships for the 2011/2012 academic year. It proposes 10-month residencies in one of the 14 participating Institutes: Berlin, Bologna, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Cambridge, Helsinki, Jerusalem, Lyons, Nantes, Paris, Uppsala, Vienna, Wassenaar. The Programme builds on the strong reputation of the Institutes for Advanced Study for promoting the concentrated, self-directed work of excellent researchers within the stimulating environment of a multi-disciplinary and international group of fellows. EURIAS Fellowships are mainly offered in the fields of the humanities and social sciences but may also be granted to scholars in natural and exact sciences, if their proposed research project does not require laboratory facilities. The diversity of the 14 participating IAS —which have agreed on a common selection procedure— offers a wide range of possible research contexts in Europe for worldwide scholars . Applicants select up to three IAS outside their country of nationality or residence as possible host institutions. The Programme welcomes applications worldwide from promising scholars at an early stage of their careers as well as from established senior researchers. During their fellowship, EURIAS fellows benefit from the high-quality research environment and working conditions provided by the host Institute. All IAS have agreed on common standards for EURIAS fellows, including the provision of a living allowance (in the range of € 26,000 for a junior fellow and € 38,000 for a senior fellow), accommodation (or a mobility allowance), a research budget, plus coverage of travel expenses. Since 1966, IARC has awarded more than 500 fellowships to junior scientists for research training in cancer. Approximately 85% of Fellows return to their home country on completion of their training, and around 82% remain active in cancer research. As a result, IARC Fellowships have made a substantial contribution to the development of cancer research in many countries. The Fellowship Programme offers postdoctoral fellowships to junior scientists from any country who intend to pursue a career in cancer research and wish to complete their training at the IARC in Lyon, France working in a research Group. Applications from candidates from low- and medium-resource countries or applicants from any part of the world but with projects related to low- and medium-resource countries are encouraged. A Senior Visiting Scientist Award is also offered for a qualified and experienced senior investigator who wishes to spend from six to twelve months at the IARC working on a collaborative project in a research area related to the Agency’s programmes. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is the specialized cancer Agency of the World Health Organization (WHO). Situated in Lyons, France, the IARC houses both epidemiology and laboratory Groups allowing it to fulfil its mission: to coordinate and conduct research on the causes of human cancer, to elucidate the mechanisms of carcinogenesis and to develop scientific strategies for cancer control. The IARC is offering an Expertise Transfer Fellowship to enable an established investigator to spend normally from six to twelve months in an appropriate host institute in a low- / medium-resource country* in order to transfer knowledge and expertise in a research area relevant for the host country and related to the Agency's programmes. The major areas of activity are focused on understanding cancer etiology (including infections, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, radiation, genetics), developing strategies for cancer prevention (primary prevention, screening) and elucidating the underlying mechanisms of carcinogenesis through studies of molecular and cell biology, molecular genetics, epigenetics and molecular pathology. The Agency also has strong programmes dedicated to describing the global cancer burden and to the evaluation of carcinogenicity through its Monographs Programme. There is an emphasis on interdisciplinary work in the Agency's research activities. Applications should include a proposed collaborative research project, specifying the link to IARC's on-going activities and a letter of support from the host lab giving details of feasibility and anticipated benefit to the receiving institute. A letter of endorsement from a research Group at IARC must also be provided. Priority will be given to projects directly linked to IARC's on-going research programme, involving at least one contact at IARC. Applicants should be established cancer researchers actively engaged in the field with appropriate scientific or medical qualifications and an excellent publications' record. They must also belong to the staff of a university or a research institution. Deadline for receipt of applications is: 30 November 2010 . Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of April 2011. There will be an annual remuneration of up to US$70,000, which will take into account the on-going salary of the Fellow. This amount may include limited support for the project. Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy scholarship after the founder of Sciences Po (1871) in order to attract the very best international students from outside of the European Union. The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements. Eligibility: Students from outside of the European Union who have been offered a place to study at undergraduate or Masters level are eligible. This scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic credentials and whose profile matches that of their chosen course.
