2010 Tuition Scholarship Plan

Be part of development and innovations in the agriculture sector 2010

During the African AgriBusiness Forum 2009 held in South Africa, the Ugandan Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Henry Bagire called for developing the export of crops and for an increase in yields. In Uganda the government is already identifying the farmers who engage in best practice in the farming of export crops and provide them with technical input and funding.

The IATC provides a broad spectrum of programmes all availing relevant skills for government officers, trainers and advisors as well as private farmers.

The IATC 2010 programmes will take place during the following 2 periods:
  • 22nd April and 10th, May, 2010
  • 28th October and 15th November, 2010
Agribusiness, Post Harvesting and Marketing Management

Water and Crop Production Management

Livestock: Advanced Dairy Technology and Farming Management (scheduled for the April session only)
Aquaculture: Intensive Fish Cultivation Management (scheduled for the October session only)

Scholarships: Scholarships are provided by our College and cover the entire tuition fee.

The International Master of Public Health (IMPH) Program was established in 1971 to fulfill our School's mission to "strive to improve the physical, mental and social welfare of the global community".  To date, our International MPH degree has been awarded to nearly 700 graduates from over 85 countries in developing and transition regions, as well as developed countries of North America and Western Europe.

We invite you to learn more about our exciting international 12-month IMPH Program (in English) 

Applications (click here) for the 2010/11 course are now being accepted. A limited number of scholarships will be available for candidates from developing regions.

All applicants should submit the application material directly to the IMPH Program Office by May 1.

The schedule for the first semster is located here (click). While on that site, clicking on a course name will show its syllabus, if available.

The second semester consists of courses, most of which are elective, and indepedent research, the details of which are to be seen here.
 
 
General Information and Procedures
The Dan David Prize laureates annually donate twenty scholarships of US$15,000 each to outstanding doctoral and post-doctoral students of exceptional promise in the chosen fields.

Ten scholarships are awarded to doctoral and post-doctoral students at universities throughout the world and ten scholarships at Tel Aviv University.

The Dan David Prize is granted according to merit, without discrimination based on gender, race, religion, nationality, or political affiliation.

Procedures: Criteria for scholarship application:
  • The applicant's doctoral or post-doctoral research is in one of the selected fields for the year in which the application is being made.
  • The applicant is a registered doctoral or post-doctoral student at a recognized university at the time of receipt of scholarship.
  • For doctoral students applying: The research proposal must be officially approved by the university department in which he/she is studying.
Required documents (in ENGLISH only, doc rtf or pdf format, Ariel or Times New Roman Font, minimum size 12):

  • Application form (completely filled-out).
  • Full Curriculum Vitae.
  • A one-two page description of the applicant's doctoral or post-doctoral research project and a list of applicant's publications (if relevant).
  • Three separate, official letters of recommendation by recognized scholars in the field, one of which is the doctoral/post-doctoral supervisor, signed in PDF format.
  • Authorization by the university that the applicant is a registered doctoral/post-doctoral student in the stated department and university, signed in PDF format.
Originals of letters of recommendation and authorization of studies should be sent by post to:

The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute proposes to award two Polonsky Postdoctoral Fellowships, in any field of the Humanities or Social Sciences, for a period of up to five years, beginning October 1, 2010. The Fellowships offer an annual stipend of $40,000. Yearly renewal of the Fellowships will be contingent upon demonstrated progress in research. Fellows will be expected to work on their research at the Institute for consecutive years during the period of the award.

Although these are postdoctoral fellowships, other candidates may be considered in those fields in which a doctoral degree is not a prerequisite for career progress.

Candidates should submit the following documents in English to polonsky@vanleer.org.il
  1. Statement of research plans (3-5 pages, with title);
  2. Summary of your previous research (3 pages);
  3. One published article or equivalent unpublished work;
  4. Curriculum vitae, including list of publications;
  5. Names and contact information for 3 possible recommendations.
