Medical Oncology
The department of Medical Oncology focuses on the development of novel diagnostic tools and cancer treatments in order to improve the life expectancy of cancer patients, while preserving a good quality of life. Within the RUNMC the department plays an important role in the Radboud Translational Oncology Program for targeted therapies (RTOP-TT). This multidisciplinary collaboration between the departments of Medical Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Tumor Immunology and Radiology is established to combine knowledge and power from the different departments. Research is predominantly focused on the investigation of novel targeted cancer treatment in combination with the classical chemotherapy and radiotherapy together with advanced molecular imaging and microscopical analysis of tumor tissues.

Functie-inhoud
The techniques you will perform include immunohistochemistry, in vitro cell assays, in vivo animal studies and preclinical imaging (PET, SPECT).

• You are expected to participate actively in the preclinical studies under supervision of senior researchers
• The PhD will be part of the Radboud Sarcoma Research Group, in which preclinical and clinical investigators work closely together
• This project will lead to a PhD thesis

  Functie-eisen A degree in (Medical) Biology

• Authorization to work with experimental animals in the Netherlands (art 9 certificate) and authorization to work with radioactivity (Stralingshygiëne Nivo 5b) is a plus
• Experience in and affinity for preclinical research and in vivo work is highly valued
• Our research requires a broad interest and good communication skills

  Arbeidsvoorwaarden

• Tijdelijk, 2 years, with perspective for a 4-year term
• 36 uur per week
• Schaal 10A; maximaal € 2622 bruto per maand, bij volledig dienstverband
