Medical Oncology The department of Medical Oncology focuses on the development of novel diagnostic tools and cancer treatments in order to improve the life expectancy of cancer patients, while preserving a good quality of life. Within the RUNMC the department plays an important role in the Radboud Translational Oncology Program for targeted therapies (RTOP-TT). This multidisciplinary collaboration between the departments of Medical Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Tumor Immunology and Radiology is established to combine knowledge and power from the different departments. Research is predominantly focused on the investigation of novel targeted cancer treatment in combination with the classical chemotherapy and radiotherapy together with advanced molecular imaging and microscopical analysis of tumor tissues. DETAILS: Functie-inhoud The techniques you will perform include immunohistochemistry, in vitro cell assays, in vivo animal studies and preclinical imaging (PET, SPECT).
