Job description: A number of PhD-scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering will be available as of 1 March 2010. The scholarships may be sought by students who wish to obtain a PhD degree, either with or without a previous Master's degree, and who have agreed on a PhD project with a supervisor employed at the Faculty of Engineering. As a principal rule the supervisor and/or the student must be able to co-finance the scholarship. The PhD programme at the Faculty of Engineering can be completed as a three-year study with a previous Master's degree, or as a four-year study without a previous Master's degree. Applicants without a relevant Master's degree must have passed a minimum 240 ECTS-points (Bachelors degree plus one year (60 ECTS-points) of graduate study). Application, salary, etc.: The applications are evaluated based on a number of criteria: the quality of the applicant (publications, grades, references, etc.), the quality of the project, and the degree of co-financing (by the supervisor, a PhD-school, or the applicant). Special consideration will be given to projects with relation to the strategic research areas of the faculty. However, some scholarships will be based on an open competition among the applicants. The scholarships will be awarded within the Research Training Programmes at the Faculty: • Robotics • Energy Efficient and Environmentally Efficient Technologies • Functional Materials and Nanotechnology • Applied Mathematical Modeling • Product Design and Innovation Information about the research areas at the faculty can be found at the faculty homepage. For students with a Master's degree the scholarship is salaried in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD students between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Processional Association). Employment as a PhD Research Fellow is for a period of three or four years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the Fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three/four-year period. Further information about the PhD-study can be found at the faculty homepage.
