Travel and research grants in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities (*) will be awarded to highly qualified PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers to perform part of their research in Turkey.
Additionally, within the context of the Alliance of Civilizations Initiative, MSc students with thesis requirement who completed required courses will be granted, in priority scientific fields determined by the Scientific Committee. (For detailed information please see the page)
ELIGIBILITY
Maximum duration of this fellowship is12months.
VALUE OF AWARD
Maximum living allowance for this fellowship is 1.750 TL/month. If it is found appropriate by TÜBİTAK - Department of Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes (BİDEB) Evaluation and Support Commission, travel costs and health insurance would be partially covered.

ELIGIBILITY
- be a non-Turkish citizen,
- be at the age of 35 or under,
- be accepted by one of the universities or research institutes in Turkey,
- certify that he/she has sufficient command of language in which the applicant is planning to carry on his/her research,
- be enrolled in PhD programme in a university at abroad for doctoral researchers,
- be enrolled in MSc programme with thesis requirement in a university at abroad in priority scientific fields determined by the Scientific Committee, and completed required courses for MSc students,
- PhD degree with GPA minimum 3.50/4.00 for post-doctoral researchers who have PhD degree from Turkish universities.

- Photocopy of birth certificate or personal information part of passport,
- Curriculum vitae and list of publications (if any),
- Curriculum vitae and list of publications of the host scientists,
- BSc, MSc AND PhD transcripts,
- A letter of acceptance from a Turkish university or a research institute,
- A letter confirming that the applicant has got a leave of absence from his/her home institution,
- Language adequacy certificate,
- A detailed research plan explaining the aim, experience and background of the candidate on the proposed research,
- A brief report prepared by the host scientist in Turkey on the proposed research project(signed),
- A document certifying that the applicant is registered as PhD student in a university at abroad for doctoral studies,
- A photocopy of PhD certificate for post-doctoral researchers,
- A document certifying that the applicant is registered as MSc student in a university at abroad for MSc students.

DEADLINES
- 1st Term : 5 March 2010
- 2nd Term : 15 October 2010
- Fellowships must be started within 1 year after the allocation.
- The fellows are kept a trace through study reports signed both by the fellows and the coordinating scientists.
- The support received from TÜBİTAK will be clearly acknowledged in all publications concerning the study realised during the fellowship period. Copies of the publications (if any) concerning the work should also be sent to BİDEB.
- Depending on the total duration of the grant, fellows should send a “development report” about their research in every 4 months after they start receiving their grants. Also, fellows must submit a “final report” following the end of the scholarship duration. In both reports, the signature of both the co-working scientist(s) and the fellow must be seen.
- In case of delay in receiving the “development reports”, the fellowship payments are halted.
