The Graduate School at the Faculty of Humanities and the PhD Programme in Cultural Studies, Literature and the Arts are inviting applications for four (4) Mobility PhD scholarships within the research area Poetics of Cultural Memory. The scholarships run for a period of up to three years from 1 February 2011. The scholarships are granted by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation's Research Coordination Committee as special Mobility Scholarships. Research into the role and functions of cultural memory in present and past societies has become an important and innovative area of contemporary cultural studies. Cultural self-perception, political communities and the various forms of social and individual agency are deeply rooted in the relation to history proffered by different forms of cultural memory.
