Application for all Doctoral Schools at the University of Padova must be submitted following the instructions at www.unipd.it/en/doctorates

The ordinary announcement for admission to PhD Schools of Padova University has been published on September 3, 2010, with deadline October 4th, 2010. Please, note that documentation has to be received by the University within the deadline. Here is the call for applications. There will be 9 positions available, of which
The annual scholarship amounts to around 13,638 euros. For periods of study abroad (up to 18 months) the scholarship value is increased by 50%. Moreover, the School contributes to travel and living expenses abroad, subject to budget availability. Apart from possible scholarships devoted to special subjects, the research topic is to be defined by the end of the first year.
Admission to the PhD School in Statistics will be decided on the basis of qualifications only and does not require an entry examination. All details will published at the University website and application is to be made following carefully the instructions therein. Interested applicants can contact the School Director for any advice.
- Diploma di Laurea (vecchio ordinamento);
- Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale (nuovo ordinamento);
- an academic qualification issued by a foreign university and recognized as equivalent to the aforementioned qualifications.
Applicants must be in possession of this requirement by the day of the first meeting of the Evaluation Committee.
Note: as a third possibility, foreign candidates who have been awarded a - minumum three-year - scholarship by some international scientific committee (e.g., Marie Curie or Erasmus Mundus scholarship) can be admittex extra quota. Admission is decided by the School Board on the basis of qualifications. Last year, the deadline for these applications was the end of November.

- 1 supported by scholarship from Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo on the subject "Innovation diffusion processes: diachronic competition, interpersonal communication, and networks" (supervisor Prof. Renato Guseo);
- 2 without scholarship.

- Qualifications include: undergraduate and/or master final mark, thesis, curriculum, scientific publications, list of examinations successfully passed and marks obtained, at most 2 letters of recommendation, other qualifications such as GRE, TOEFL, etc. Having already been awarded the degree is not necessary for application, but it is necessary to obtain the degree before the admission procedures start.
- The CV and the reference letters have to be compiled according to the templates: CV_2010 (doc, pdf), LETTER_2010 (doc, pdf).
