Funding to stipends, equipment, consumables, travel, etc. will be provided to support, on an ad hoc basis, research projects of one to three years duration directed at the replacement of animals and animal products in biological research in line with MAWA principles.

There will be no formal annual round of applications but all applications will follow an established grant application format, refereed and approved by the MAWA management committee before funding.
