ntroductionThe Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are demand oriented fellowship programmes designed to foster institutional development. The NFP target group consists of mid-career professionals who are already in employment.

Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) – new application procedureStarting 2011 NFP will change its application procedure. For IHS courses that start in June 2011 and afterwards, NFP applications should no longer be sent to the Netherlands embassy in your home country. Instead, applications should be entered into an online system, called SOL (Scholarships On-Line). Through this system you will be able to view your status throughout the process.

It will still remain possible to apply for an NFP fellowship with a paper application form, although the deadline for the paper forms is a month earlier than the online application deadline. The paper forms should not be sent to the Netherlands Embassy, but should be sent directly to Nuffic in the Netherlands.

Step 1: Apply for IHS programme first!
Before applying for an NFP fellowship, please be aware that you need to be admitted to the programme of your choice first! You can apply for all the IHS programmes mentioned below through www.ihs.nl/login. The admission procedure takes about 3 weeks, so make sure you apply with IHS about 3 weeks before the NFP deadline.

Preferred deadline of application with IHS: 17 January 2012/ 10 April 2012/ 11 September 2012

Step 2: Apply for NFP at the Nuffic website
After you have received your admission letter you may apply for NFP. Below you can find more information about how to do this. Please take the deadline of the programme of your choice into consideration.

The NFP deadline for online applications is:             7 February 2012 / 1 May 2012 / 2 October 2012

Deadlines
Eligible countries: www.nuffic.nl/international-organizations/services/scholarships/nfp/nfp-country-list

For whomWhile fellowships are awarded to individuals, the need for training must occur within the context of the organization for which an applicant works. The training must help the organization to develop its capacity. This means that applicants must be nominated by their employers. In fact, an application without the support of an employer will not be considered.

Half of the available funding from the NFP budget should be spent on fellowships for female candidates and for candidates from sub-Saharan Africa. Apart from this priority is given to candidates from deprived groups and/or from marginalized regions.

As from January 1, 2009 mid-career professionals from Burundi, the Democratic Republic Congo, Kosovo and Sudan may also apply for an NFP fellowship.

More informationFor more information about the online application system and application criteria, please visit theNuffic website.

To apply for NFP through SOL, please go to: Scholarships On-Line.

International students may apply for grants and scholarships if they have demonstrated financial need. Continuing students are eligible to apply, however incoming students are required to show they are able to support themselves for one year while attending Texas A&M University. Incoming students may apply their second year for financial aid.
