The International Scientific Meeting on “Recent Developments in Malaria Research” is part of the International series of workshops/meetings organized by ICGEB at its different components. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together a panel of leading malaria scientists and researchers from developing countries.

This ICGEB Malaria Meeting will involve a series of plenary lectures from the invited speakers. Other participants will be encouraged to present their research work as posters which will provide additional opportunity for extended interactions.

Scientists, scholars and students from ICGEB member states* can apply to participate in the meeting. Applications should be made in the prescribed format. Selected applicants will receive their accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the meeting; travel is NOT funded.

Participants are expected to present their work as posters at the Symposium. Participants should also submit an extended abstract (one page; up to 250 words) of the poster to be presented, preferably by e-mail. The Abstract must contain sufficient information to help ascertain the intrinsic merit of the work.

The Workshop will be organized on the ICGEB, New Delhi campus. The local address is ICGEB, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi 110067; Tel: +91-11-26741358 /26741361 /26742357/26742360. It is located about 10 km from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi and about 20 km from the New Delhi Railway Station and Nizamuddin Railway Station. The deadline for online submission of sessions (symposia, workshops and postgraduate courses) for the 41st Union World Conference on Lung Health has been extended to 21 November 2009.

Proposed sessions should  relate to the theme Tuberculosis, HIV and lung health: from research and innovations to solutions

The Scientific Programme Committee will meet during the conference in Cancun to review the submitted proposals. The majority of sessions (90 %+) will be selected during this meeting. A reserve list will be made and ranked for the remaining slots (10 %). Should you wish your proposal to be considered during the Scientific Programme Committee meeting, please submit before 21 November 2009. A very few slots will be kept available for late submissions and added to the reserve list for final consideration. The deadline for these is 15 December 2009.
