Voxiva, a leading global service provider of practical information solutions to strengthen public health and safety systems, seeks an energetic Business Analyst to fill a critical role bridging system design and delivery efforts between its internal teams and its clients.  As a member of the Operations Team, the Analyst will largely provide functional support for various applications by serving as the main liaison between business users and technical teams to identify analyze and translate business needs into system specifications utilizing his/her experience in enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies. Reporting to the Business Analyst Manager this position requires both a focus on understanding client's needs and the skill to translate those into working configurations in line with an existing solution framework.

TO BE A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:

• · Under direction of project managers, work independently with system users to define concepts and elicit system requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, user surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis using natural language according to standard templates.
• · Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• · Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Business Analysis Model, AS IS document, Use Cases, Proposed Design, Requirements Specification, Functional Specification.
• · Work with Quality Assurance team to help convert artifacts, including Use Cases, into a high quality and thorough series of test cases.
• · Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which system requirements flow.
• · Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• · Collaborate with project managers to ensure solution is delivered on time and to specification.
• · Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously as needed.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• · A minimum of 3-5 years in a business analyst or consulting environment, preferably within roles responsible for client-facing requirements gathering, business analysis, project management and/or coordination dealing with the design and development of web-based information solutions.
• . 3+ years direct experience conducting process analysis, requirements definition, use case analysis, and implementation/deployment management.
• · Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
• · Experience in designing and/or supporting solutions for low-resource environments.
• · Familiarity with telephony IVR applications is desirable.
• · Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a culturally diverse group of clients and internal staff to include executives, managers, subject matter experts and software developers and engineers
• · Experience working in ‘virtual teams’ with geographically dispersed colleagues and/or clients  across multiple time zones and different organizational boundaries.
• · Fluent in English and local language is a plus.
• · Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally extensively for either short or long term assignments.
• · Experience in general public health, epidemiology and international development sectors is desirable.

Background
The East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Project (EHAHRDP) is the secretariat to a network that comprises of 65 member organisations drawn from ten sub regional countries. The project works to trengthen the work of human rights defenders (HRDs) in the East and Horn of Africa sub-region by reducing their vulnerability to the risk of persecution and by enhancing their capacity to effectively defend human rights.

The Project envisions a region in which the human rights of every citizen as stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) are respected and upheld.

EHAHRDP implements activities in the areas of protection, advocacy and capacity building.

Key responsibilities:

• The Program Coordinator will report to the EHAHRDP Executive Director and the responsibilities will include;
• Supervision; responsible for the overall design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all programmes undertaken by the East and Horn of Africa Human
• Rights Defenders Project (EHAHRDP) at its office in Kampala, Uganda;

In conjunction with the relevant program staff, design and implement appropriatestrategies and policies that promote EHAHRDP’s activities:

1. Monitoring; develop program management schedules, activity analysis plan,success score cards and benchmarks, performance indicators and monitoring and evaluation criteria against program goals for program staff, volunteers and interns;
2. Reporting; prepare program narrative and financial reports, briefing and position papers for management, counterparts, partners and donors, as well as recommend reviews and proposals to ensure that program activities address actual needs;
3. Coordination and Networking; develop and maintain productive working relationships with management, donors, partners, beneficiaries and other stakeholders;
4. Ensure all agreements with Partners and service providers be prepared, negotiated and agreed upon;
5. Promote the overall Project Strategies, objectives and activities with stakeholders and partners;
6. Support the strategic development of the Project through identification of opportunities and risks, and contribute to the refinement and reformulation of planned project outputs and activities, where necessary;

• Advanced University Degree (Human Rights, Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, and International Relations) and extensive experience in Human Rights Work;

Human Rights Watch ("HRW") is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Researcher on the Horn of Africa/Kenya.

Description:
Under the guidance of the Team Leader for the Horn of Africa/Kenya, the Researcher will support the work of HRW staff in implementing a human rights research and advocacy agenda focusing on the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia) and Kenya.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: curbing abuses of human rights and humanitarian law in the Horn of Africa and Kenya through monitoring, investigating and documenting violations; writing and publicizing concise and accurate reports, briefing papers, letters, press releases, op-eds and submissions to international bodies as needed, with a quick turnaround time; developing and implementing local, regional and international strategies to bring violations to the attention of the government and the international community and change abusive laws, policies and practices; effectively advocating for the improvement of human rights with regional governments, the African Union, the United States, the European Union and intergovernmental organizations; monitoring related legislative and/or policy developments; responding to inquiries from the press, public and colleagues in the human rights community; and other tasks as may be assigned. Travel to the region will be required.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be scrupulously objective, able to investigate and report on abuses without prejudice or favor, in contexts that are often highly charged politically. The individual in this position must be flexible and able to respond quickly to crises as they may occur, producing excellent written material in English under tight deadlines. The position combines elements of research, writing and advocacy, and requires an individual who has solid judgment and initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent research and writing skills.

An advanced (graduate) degree in international relations, journalism, law, and history and/or the social sciences as well as solid field research and documentation skills are required. S/he will have experience working in or on one or more countries in the region. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English are required; fluency in one or more regional languages is strongly preferred.

S/he must be able to travel domestically and overseas for three or more weeks at a time, several times a year. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, well organized, collegial and able to work quickly and well under pressure both independently and as a member of a team. S/he must have a demonstrated commitment to international human rights.

To expand our services in East Africa, we are searching for committers Internet Centres (Internet Cafes, ICT centres and other local institutions to partner with us in marketing seeks to partner with local internet cafes so as to encourage locals to use the internet more for their day-day activities.

We are looking for internet partners in the Eastern Africa region – Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somali, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

Reporting

Duties and responsibilities

1. Source, upload and manage Mojatu.com contents
2. Source premium adverts for online, magazine and directory listings
3. Assist local organisations to load contents onto Mojatu.com at a fee
4. Market Mojatu locally by: Distributing Mojatu marketing materials and Encouraging local listings – directory, events and events
5. Distribute Mojatu magazines and directories – either free or for sale
6. Sell other specific products and services offered by Mojatu.com partners

Duties and responsibilities

2. Manage contents sourcing and uploading onto Mojatu.com – Directory, classifieds, events, news/ comments and photos/videos
3. Recruit, train and manage local agents
4. Market Mojatu locally
5. Distribute Mojatu magazines and directories – print, online, CD and mobile 6. Sell other specific products and services offered by Mojatu for specified commission
