Organization(s): Management Sciences for Health Country/Region: Kenya Contract Length: Full-time staff position Reference No: 10-313CLM Description MSH is recruiting for a Technical Advisor, M&E and HMIS for a potential projectin Kenya. Background information: The Leadership, Management and Sustainability (LMS) Program in Kenya will support public sector units of the health system, non-governmental organizations (NGO), faith based organizations (FBO) and other USAID partners by strengthening the leadership and management capabilities at the provincial, district and community level facilities. The program will improve the health of Kenyan population by positively impacting the quality and access to health services. Subject to award by USAID, this project will be carried out over a five-year period beginning o/a March 15, 2010. Overall Responsibilities: The Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing technical assistance in monitoring and evaluation and HMIS to public sector units, NGOs, FBOs, USAID partners, Leadership Development Program (LDP) participants and hospital reform teams. The Technical Advisor will lead and oversee the training, support and systems development required to improve the use of health data generated by the current Information Systems. She/he will work closely with the government, partners and clients to expand the use of Health Information Systems, with a focus on using the information to improve the performance of health services, decision making process to the management of health resources and monitor the work of provincial, district and community level health facilities.
