Description   PSI seeks candidates for a Quality Assurance Advisor to provide technical expertise and guidance for an upcoming USAID Grant and/or Cooperative Agreement for Expanding Access to Long Term Family Planning Methods in Uganda.  This program will implement the following results: 

• Expand the geographic coverage and reach of comprehensive family planning services
• Increase the affordability of quality family planning services, particularly the provision of long-acting and permanent methods
• Strengthen the capacity of the public sector to deliver long-acting and permanent methods

This full-time position is based in Kampala, Uganda, and reports to the Project Director. Approximately 50% travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure the overall technical excellence of service delivery, outreach, financing, and capacity building approaches
• Ensure the coherence and consistency of family planning activities
• Establish systems to monitor adherence of activities to the principles of voluntarism and informed choice
• Measure project progress against objectives
• Provide technical (clinical and non-clinical) leadership on the provision of family planning services
• Educate project staff about project interventions and ensure programs adhere to current, internationally accepted health service delivery norms and standards   

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Master's degree or higher in public health, the social sciences or a related area with specific training in reproductive health.
• At least 5 years experience working in a service delivery setting.
• Demonstrated depth and breadth knowledge of evidence-based and promising models and internationally-recognized best practices in family planning service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience building the capacity of health care providers.
• Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision making and interpersonal skills.
• Experience that demonstrates a sound understanding of male and female gender roles and how they are integrated into FP programs is preferred.
• Two years experience living or working in a developing country is highly desirable.
• Effective English oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to interact professionally in a second language is preferred.
