Description
PATH is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the health of people around the world by advancing technologies, strengthening systems, and encouraging healthy behaviors.

PATH is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position for a prospective project. The position is contingent on successful award of project funding.

Finance Manager - This position will:
  • Support the financial management, administration and implementation of an interagency project involving multiple public-private partnerships.
  • be responsible for providing financial advice and support to clients and public private partners to enable them to make sound business decisions.
  • Ensure that PATH effectively meets the financial planning, monitoring, and reporting needs of the donor.
  • Advise project staff on donor contract requirements and provide training on financial management, record keeping, operational systems and policies.
  • Work with the head of project and technical staff to develop and coordinate the annual work plan and budgeting process with partners and staff in compliance with donor regulations.
  • Design and manage a system to monitor financial and grants management needs, and train and oversee relevant staff to use the system.
  • Provide capacity building as needed to partners and subcontractors in budget development, financial reporting and grants monitoring.
  • Provide technical assistance in organizational and systems development and good governance.
  • Supervise all aspects of agreement compliance issues including branding and marking, procurement, property administration, and grant amendment processes.
Qualification and key competencies:
  • Minimum of a masters degree in finance, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, accounting, finance or related field and a CPA (K) or ACCA finalist qualification.
  • At least 10 years experience in a financial monitoring role reporting at a supervisory level with at least 4 years in the NGO environment working with USAID / CDC funded projects is required. A relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience will be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and MS Office applications.
  • Person of exemplary and unquestionable integrity with proven work ethics that meet strict deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of donor-funded financial management and controls
  • Well-organized and collaborative approach to work, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, build strong working relationships, formulate solutions and offer opinions in an open manner.
  • Analytical approach to work, strong attention to detail, ability to make quick but balanced decisions and an investigative nature.
