Berlin Training for International Development Cooperation
The SLE at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin has been training young postgraduates from all fields in international development cooperation and management for over four decades. More than 800 people have graduated from the SLE, and are now working in international development cooperation for private, international, and bilateral agencies. The SLE is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Senate of Berlin. Target Group The SLE plus: Berlin Training for International Development Cooperation is directed at young professionals from all elds working in development cooperation. By selecting participants with different professional and cultural backgrounds from all over the world, the programme follows the intercultural and interdisciplinary approach vital to development cooperation. Training Philosophy Learning by doing is the key element of the SLE’s teaching philosophy. Case studies, exercises and / or role plays help to create an environment of common learning where participants can put taught methods into practice. All courses are accompanied by a framework programme that provides participants with the opportunity to become familiar with scholarly discussions in the area of development cooperation, and to meet with representatives of German governmental and non-governmental organisations active in the eld of development cooperation.
