For more information on MSI, please visit our website at www.msiworldwide.com Project/Proposal Summary: Over the course of the contract, MSI intends to assess the organizational capacity of large and small Tanzanian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). MSIs activities will include strengthening CSOs through technical assistance to improve their operational capacity through management and financial systems to manage operational changes. Position Summary: This job involves close liaison with the project Technical Team, including the Deputy Chief of Party, Grants Manager, and M&E Specialist. The Capacity Building Manager will be responsible for carrying out capacity building tasks and deliverables associated with the project, and as required by the Deputy Chief of Party/Capacity Building Specialist. This will include, but not be limited to, areas such as capacity building assistance, including monitoring and evaluation, broad-based training, technical assistance, and institutional strengthening. **This is a local position. Only Tanzanian citizens are eligible to apply** Responsibilities: • Oversee all capacity building efforts of Large CSO partners to ensure the quality of their work with smaller CSO partners. • Promote the use among program partners of the Institutional Development Framework as a self-help tool for the development of their capacity. • Participate in the introduction of the Institutional Development Framework to small and large CSO partners and in subsequent follow-up activities. • In collaboration with the rest of the project Technical Team, engage in the process of recruiting local CSO partners. • As a member of the program technical team, engage with Monitoring and Evaluation activities as required. • Make site visits to large and small project partners and potential CSO partners as necessary. • Participate in and facilitate selected trainings. • Engage with other local and international CSOs and local and national government groups to facilitate common dialogue around CSO advocacy and capacity building efforts. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree and 10 years relevant experience with small and large organization capacity building preferred; • Experience living and working in Tanzania; • Experience building the capacity of small and large CSOs; • Experience with USAID and PEPFAR reporting is a must; • Familiarity with TOMSHA reporting a plus; • Regional travel required; • Must be able to speak English fluently; Swahili language skills a plus.
