Required to start in September 2010 this is a full-time post, during term time from mid September to the end of June to tutor undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as participate in the teaching activities of the Department.
It is essential that applicants have a relevant qualification or equivalent, together with expert knowledge and teaching experience in Swahili language, literature and culture. Experience and excellence in teaching Swahili language are essential.
The appointee will be required to conduct tutorial sessions, conversation classes, guide students in language lab sessions, conduct oral/aural exams with other colleagues, contribute to the teaching of MA and research students in Swahili and play an active part in developing this field. The applicant will undertake 18 teaching hours per week in total and may also support and participate in the teaching of Swahili at the Language Centre to make up to 18 hpw if required.
