Project Summary: AED is recruiting for several positions in East Africa for projects that focus on building systems and capacity at the Ministry of Education in the some or all of the following areas:   in-service teacher education for primary education, education policy, improved EMIS and decentralized planning, use of ICT in the classroom, and monitoring, and evaluation, including the measurement of student learning.

The ideal candidate will have a mix of strong technical expertise and project management experience, particularly in the areas of teacher professional development and technology for education.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for developing and coordinating teacher professional development (TPD) activities;
  • Oversee implementation and reporting of TPD activities;
  • Establish productive relationships with government, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders, including teacher colleges and training centers, and;
  • Build the capacity of counterparts.
Qualifications:  Ph.D, Ed.D or Master’s degree in education or related field, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English required and working knowledge of Kiswahili preferred.
