The Human Rights Grants Scheme (HRGS) is now calling for Expressions of Interest for the 2010–11 funding round. The HRGS provides grant funding to non-government organisations and human rights institutions based or operating in developing countries to promote and protect human rights in direct and tangible ways.

The application process for the 2010–11 HRGS round has two steps:

Step 2: following assessment of the Expressions of Interest, selected organisations will be invited to proceed to the second stage of the application process and submit a full application.

Guidelines Full Scheme requirements including detailed information on submitting an Expression of Interest can be found below. Guidelines for submitting a full application will be provided to selected organisations when invited to continue to the second stage of the application process.
Closing date
Expressions of Interest must be received by the relevant Australian diplomatic post by 4 pm (local time) on Tuesday 15 June 2010. Late Expressions of Interest will not be accepted.

Successful projects will be announced on Human Rights Day, 10 December 2010.
