Geita Gold Mine (GGM) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania. It is located within Mwanza Region, about 85 km’s from the City and 20 km’s South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria and 5 Km’s west of Geita town. The Mine is owned and managed by Anglo Gold Ashanti Limited.

JOB TITLE : Sustainable Development Superintendent

REPORTING TO : Sustainability Manager

LEVEL OF EDUCATION: First degree or equivalent with post qualifications in general Management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 years relevant experience in community work

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Conscientious worker
  2. Must be well versed in English and Swahili (written & spoken)
  3. Good team worker
  4. Computer literacy
  5. Driving license will be an added advantage

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure a conducive community environment to sustain the social license to operate at Geita Gold Mine

FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES/TASKS
  1. Plan, organize, direct and evaluate Community Sustainable Development (CSD) programs based on AngloGold Ashanti Standards.
  2. Communicate Company goals, objectives and potential projects to local authorities and communities as per GGM engagement strategy.
  3. Promote a favourable public image of the company through a comprehensive stake holder’s engagement program
  4. Prepare and implement a Community and Sustainable Development Budget
