RedR India Training of Trainers on Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR)

A five-day RedR India training module that prepares humanitarian personnel as well as development professionals to enhance their capacities with regard to becoming effective trainer in the CBDRR process.

Aim of the Training:

This ToT on CBDRR is viewed as a step towards building a pool of human resources who can train other Civil society actors, government officials, people’s representatives and community leaders with the knowledge and perspectives of resilient communities and skills of facilitating capacity building processes applying participatory methods.

Course Objectives and Outline:

By the end of the course participants should be able to explain:

  • Nature and types of the trainings required to facilitate CBDRR process. 
  • Principles of adult learning. 
  • Role of the trainer as a facilitator. 
  • Methods of learning needs assessment at community level. 
  • Facilitation skills to apply participatory training methodology. 
  • Development of context specific training designs. 
  • Development of learning and media material to facilitate the trainings. 
  • Evaluate the community based training programmes.

Expected Participants/Eligibility:

This course is open to GO, INGOs, UN, Red Cross, NGOs development and emergency personnel who have experience of coordinating, implementing relief, rehabilitation and development work and are involved in CBDRR initiatives. It is also important that participants have attended any CBDRR course in past.

Course Fees Type: Residential Training

This cost is fully-inclusive of all accommodation, food, training and training materials from the evening of the first date advertised to the afternoon of the last date advertised. Organisational rate (Sponsored Candidates) INR 18,000 or USD 400 Individual rate (Non-Sponsored) INR 14,000 or USD 320
