Name: 3rd Symposium of infectious diseases in Africa: Measurement of immune responses and 4th African Flow cytometry workshop: Detection of Antigenic-specific T cells
The first event is a two-day symposium: “3rd Infectious Diseases in Africa symposium: Measurement of Immune Responses” and will take place on 12-13 November 2011. The aims of the symposium are: a) to bring leading international scientists in the field of TB, Malaria and HIV together with young African investigators to discuss the latest immunology concepts and measurement of cellular immunity to these diseases and b) to provide an opportunity for young African investigators to present their research findings to experts in the field and to facilitate collaborative research opportunities.
The second event is the “4th African Flow Cytometry Workshop: Detection of Antigen-Specific T Cells” that will immediately follow the symposium from 14-18 November 2011. This workshop will allow 12 scholars to receive an in-depth hands-on training on the most recent techniques in multiparameter flow cytometry assays and to analyze and interpret complex sets of data.
