So, a few minutes after posting the earlier post, I sent a message to the DV Lottery 2011 via the emails I obtained from their website, and the reply was as it reads below. I am afraid I can't be of a help here. One needs to know a better way of getting in touch with them, probably by sacrificing minutes to hours calling them and holding until somebody answers.
Good luck (is all I can say for now).

Some questions can only be answered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) of the Department of Homeland Security, formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), because you are already in the United States:
· Do you have a visa and would like to change it to another type?
· Would you like to extend your stay in the U.S.?
· Have you changed your U.S. employer?
· Now that you're in the U.S., would you like to find work?
· Do you have a U.S. visa but were refused admission or entry into the United States and want   to know why and what to do next?

For information on these and other topics concerning immigration matters while you are in the United States, you'll need to contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Click on <http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm>
