In the previous post, is a shared cool link that helps you set a start time on a YouTube video you may want to share with others. If you appear in a video and you wanted people to see how you did your 2 minutes and 30 seconds presentation, you surely don't want to bore them with showing off how you woke up, brushed your teeth, tripped on your shoes etc, just jump straight to the point. Leave those who want to see the whole video load it at their own time. Advantages: This method saves time by going straight to the intended function in the video. It also reduces the loading time so that one doesn't have to waste time and bandwidth loading the whole video, only to see a small part. DIY Get the URL address of the YouTube link you want to share. Choose the start time (don't know where to mark the starting time? see NOTE at the end of this post) then change the original URL to new one by adding in sequence the following: #t=0m0s
My original YouTube URL address is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg8fuc1_-d8 My new URL address with my set start time will be: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg8fuc1_-d8#t=0m29s If I wanted it to begin at the 5th minute and 23second mark, my new url will be www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg8fuc1_-d8#t=5m23s Disadvantages: I don't know how to set a stop time, so it will still load from where it starts till the end. I guess you can just use your mouse to click stop and close if you don't want to watch it all. NOTE How to mark the starting time in a YouTube video: Click play on the YouTube video, now look at the bottom right corner of the video playing to see time progress, wait until it reaches the point you desire, click pause, then mark the time, this is your start time. Now add it on the url to get a new url for sharing. Share with us your youtube tips in the comment box.
