Vietnam President Nguyen Minh Triet said Vietnam is ready to share experiences and help Tanzania in agricultural development. The state President while receiving Tanzanian Prime Minister Mizengo Peter Pinda in Hanoi on March 30 valued the visit, which takes place on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, as an important milestone that helps further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania .

He thanked the Tanzanian people for their support for Vietnam during its struggle for national independence and affirmed that Tanzania is seen as a steadfast friend of Vietnam.

Regarding cooperation in economics, trade and investment, President Triet said that Vietnam and the countries of Africa, including Tanzania, should speed up cooperation to achieve the prosperous development of each country and improve the living standards of their peoples.

He said he wished that the ministries and agencies of the two sides would soon implement specific measures to boost cooperation in areas of potential, especially agriculture, irrigational construction, food processing, health care and education.

For his part, PM Mizengo Peter Pinda affirmed that Tanzania values its ties with Vietnam and wishes to further boost their friendship, solidarity and cooperation, particularly in agriculture, health and education.
