FIFA Fair Play Award 2010 goes to Spain 12/07/2010
The Spanish team emerged the winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award 2010 after ending the tournament as both the best team in the world and also the fairest. The team collected only 8 yellow cards in the course of the tournament. Korea DPR finished with just 2 yellow cards, but they only played three matches at the finals. The FIFA Fair Play Award for Spain comes as little surprise in the light of the fair play ratings from 2006, when the Spaniards and Brazil finished joint top. ![]() (Top from L) Spain's striker Pedro, Spain's midfielder Sergio Busquets, Spain's defender Sergio Ramos, Spain's defender Joan Capdevila, Spain's defender Gerard Pique, Spain's midfielder Xabi Alonso; (bottom from L) Spain's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Spain's midfielder Andrés Iniesta, Spain's striker David Villa, Spain's midfielder Xavi, Spain's defender Carles Puyol pose before the 2010 World Cup football final between the Netherlands and Spain on July 11, 2010 at Soccer City stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.
