We, the Hemophilia Society of Tanzania (HST) congratulates, supports and cheers the successful efforts which were undertaken by government in particular the Prime Minister Hon. Mizengo Pinda, Medical consultants, Physicians/ Doctors and entire medical community to restore medical services at Muhimbili Referral Hospital.
We trust that the decisions made today will be sustained for the betterment of the entire Tanzania community including people with blood clotting disorder.
As you may know, our society is officially registered under the Ministry of Home Affairs (2009) vide Societies Rule of 1954 with Reg. No. SA 16403.
Its purpose is “Independent diagnosis and management of bleeding disorders within Tanzania”.
The objectives are; to create awareness in Tanzania about bleeding disorders and mobilize patients to lobby for access to clotting factors and improved medical services. Hemophilia is a hereditary life long disease associated with continuous bleeding, trauma and sometimes death if a vein is injured/cut and no treatment is provided within a reasonable tine.
Therefore, we say an excellent humanitarian and life saving decision was made.
