GHFP is supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The goal of GHFP is to improve the effectiveness of USAID Population, Health and Nutrition programs by developing and increasing capacity of health professionals in Washington, DC and overseas. This is accomplished through the recruitment, placement and support of junior, mid and senior level health professionals; a diversity initiative focused on providing internship and mentoring opportunities in international public health to underrepresented communities; and professional and organizational development activities to bolster USAID’s ability to maximize results and strengthen its leadership role in global health. INTRODUCTION Over the second phase of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), country teams will be working closely with their government counterparts to translate, prioritize and implement the newly developed PEPFAR Tanzania Partnership Framework to fit the country context, fully align and harmonize with key Government of Tanzania (GOT) development and HIV/AIDS strategies, and meet the new five year PEPFAR Strategy and Global Health Initiative goals. Prevention remains a paramount challenge of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and is a major priority of both the GOT and the US Government (USG) in the next phase of PEPFAR. A successful prevention program requires a combination of mutually reinforcing, continually evaluated interventions that are tailored to the needs and risks of different target populations. In Tanzania, the USG PEPFAR Prevention Strategic Results Unit has supported the Tanzania AIDS Commission (TACAIDS) Prevention Technical Working Committee over the past year to develop the first National Prevention Strategy. Through the development of this strategy, a vast array of multidisciplinary stakeholders worked with the GOT to identify the country’s key HIV/AIDS drivers and prioritize and target interventions for maximum impact. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Program Analysis Technical Advisor (the Advisor) for the Tanzania PEPFAR Prevention Strategic Results Unitwill support the PEPFAR Partnership Framework Prevention Goal and Prevention Strategic Results Unit (SRU) and three Interagency Technical Teams (ITT) – Sexual Prevention, Biomedical Prevention, and Counseling and Testing – in program mapping and data analysis to support quality improvement across the USG prevention portfolio. This mapping and analysis will ensure that behavioral, structural and biomedical initiatives are appropriately targeted, effective and efficient. The Advisor will facilitate cross Partnership Framework (PF) Goal and SRU/ITT dialogue and coordination within the PEPFAR/Tanzania team, including closely linking with the Strategic Information Team. The Advisor will also provide significant PF Prevention Goal and SRU/ITT administrative/management/logistical support, including support to the SRU in its semiannual and annual PEPFAR reporting requirements, organization and undertaking of monitoring field visits, and other strategic exercises, such as costing and data analysis. These activities will support a country-driven, comprehensive, prevention response. The other basic functions and responsibilities of the Advisor include: Data Analysis/Monitoring:

Education and research cover a broad spectrum within natural sciences and engineering, as well as architecture, industrial engineering and management, urban planning, work science and environmental engineering. There are circa 13,300 full-year undergraduate students, 1,500 postgraduate students and 3,900 employees. CSC is one of Sweden’s most advanced and successful research and education institutions in Information Technology at KTH and Stockholm University. The activities of the school focus on higher education and research within the traditional core areas of numerical analysis and computer science; from theory building and analysis of mathematical models to algorithm construction, implementation and simulation. Other core areas of growing importance are technology and methods for the support of human communication and computer mediated cooperation over distances in time and space. The applied research includes scientific computing, computer science, computer vision, robotics, neuroinformatics and neural networks, human-computer interaction, media technology and graphic arts, and communication through speech, language and music. For more information see www.kth.se/csc The Department for Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDC) performs applied research in parallel and distributed computing methodologies and tools, with a particular focus on programming support (methods and tools), resource management, performance tools, distributed data handling, and wide area distributed computing and networking. Research Project The goal of this project is to study data security aspects in wide area (cloud) computing. When dealing with data over distributed systems confining possible access and storage of data to a certain (geographic) domain is an important feature to ensure protection of potentially sensitive data. Examples include medical data that may not be stored outside the realm of the hospital. Data protection on shared systems (such as cloud systems) is another important topic of this work. The project will cover both theoretical aspects of data protection and privacy as well as practical implementations of prototype systems. The candidate will join a collaborative project between PDC and the Theoretical Computer Science group of CSC. This is a four-year, time-limited position and normally includes 20% departmental duties, usually teaching. Research/doctoral students must be registered at KTH. The salary follows the guidelines provided by KTH. The starting date is open for discussion, though ideally we would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible. Qualifications A suitable background for this position would be a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialisation in security, distributed systems, or equivalent. In addition to the traditional academic merits experiences with distributed systems, international experience and language skills are regarded as advantageous qualifications. Applicants must be strongly motivated for doctoral studies, possess the ability to work independently and perform critical analysis as well as possessing good levels of cooperative and communicative abilities. To address its varied work, KTH aims to employ a diversity of talent and thus welcomes applicants who will add to the variety of the University, especially as concerns its gender structure.
