I recommend reading: "Boy, Oh, Boy" by Maureen Dowd - NYTimes

I would like to personally thank Maureen Dowd and my other friends that I have know personally be it at work or social and family gatherings for having eyes that see and an understanding that focuses beyond the race factor. I would therefore recommend that people read this article by MAUREEN DOWD of the New York Times, that was published on September 12, 2009.

QUOTING from the article:
I’ve been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer — the frantic efforts to paint our first black president as the Other, a foreigner, socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids — had much to do with race.

Busted by police for installing 'skimming' device on an ATM

What you are going to see in this video is not a 'make up' home video or drama or anything funny, this is real. It happened in Brazil. A man installed a 'skimming' device on an ATM, later on when he came to retrieve it, he was caught by police. The whole thing was captured and recorded via a CCTV camera and posted on a video sharing site, LiveLeak.com.
In one of my previous posts, I posted a slide show explaining how ATMs, you may want to read it if by chance you didn't see it. Here is the link: "This is how ATM card skimming and PIN capturing scams work"

Other people elsewhere across the globe have been trying to steal AMT machines, here are some of those videos. You can watch more of these videos on any video sharing sites.
This happened in the Dallas suburb of Krugerville, Texas, USA

The Open Society Fellowship

The Open Society Fellowship supports individuals seeking innovative and unconventional approaches to fundamental open society challenges. The fellowship funds work that will enrich public understanding of those challenges and stimulate far-reaching and probing conversations within the Open Society Institute and in the world.

A fellowship project might identify a problem that has not previously been recognized, develop new policy ideas to address familiar problems, or offer a new advocacy strategy. Fellows should take advantage of the considerable intellectual and logistical resources of the Open Society Institute and expect to contribute meaningfully to OSI's thinking in return.

In evaluating each proposal, the selection committee weighs three factors: the applicant, the topic of the project, and the work product.

Proposals are accepted year round, but those received by September 15, 2009, will be evaluated by November 30, 2009.

  1. The Applicant
  2. The Topic of the Project
  3. The Work Product
  4. Fellowship Expectations
  5. Fellowship Placement and Term
  6. Application and Selection
