Bank of Africa Group saddened by sudden demise of Amb. Kazaura

The Bank of Africa Group is saddened by the sudden demise of one of its leaders, Ambassador Fulgence Michael Kazaura, the Board Chairman of its Tanzania subsidiary BANK OF AFRICA-TANZANIA, which occurred in a hospital in Chennai, India on Saturday, February 22, 2014 while attending treatment.

Responding to the news of the passing away of Ambassador Kazaura, the Group Chairman and CEO Mr. Mohamed Bennani, had this to say:
“Upon learning about the sad demise of Ambassador Fulgence Kazaura, I would like to present sincere condolences to the members of the family, on behalf of myself as well as the Directors, Management and Staff of BANK OF AFRICA -TANZANIA. As Chairman, Ambassador Kazaura conducted brilliantly the
meetings of the Board of Directors since 1996, which contributed to the development of the bank’s activities and products in the Tanzanian market. His numerous friends among the Directors and Management had deep respect for him and now feel that they have lost a dear friend. May he rest in eternal peace and may the Almighty grant you the necessary courage to go through these difficult moments.”

Ambassador Kazaura had worked with another Group Director in charge of Anglophone countries, Mr. Abdekabir Bennani, who was also shocked with the news of the sudden demise of Ambassador Kazaura he commented, 
“I felt sad after receiving the news of the passing away of Ambassador Kazaura. As Chairman of BANK OF AFRICA – TANZANIA, he managed the Board’s discussions with skill and efficiency while simultaneously creating a friendly atmosphere. He was respected by all the Directors and his absence will be felt in our future meetings.”

Since 2007 when the then Eurafrican Bank was acquired by Group Bank of Africa to BANK OF AFRICA -TANZANIA, under the Group Chairmanship of Paul Derreumaux, he had this to say: 
“Chairman Kazaura was a living example. It is possible to have, at the same time, different qualities: the authority, the simplicity, the skill and the kindness, dedication, competency. I’m very glad to have worked with him for a couple of years and he will still be a precious support for the bank and myself.”
“That God is willing to welcome him under His Holy protection and to give him the Eternal Rest. That God is also willing to give the necessary strength to his family,” 
remarked former President and Group Chairman.

Other condolence messages came from another Board member: 
“I have been a member of the Board of Directors of Eurafrican Bank and BANK OF AFRICA -TANZANIA, with Ambassador Kazaura as Chairman for close to 15 years,”
said Vincent De Blouer, adding, 
“In his very thoughtful manner, he has relentlessly helped Belgolaise first, and then BANK OF AFRICA Group overcome the many obstacles that arose on the difficult path to the sustainability and growth of the bank. In all my dealings with him, and in his capacity as Board Chairman, I always found Ambassador Kazaura to be wise, tactful, and very charismatic indeed. Our bank owes him a lot. I have many vivid souvenirs with him, I am very grateful for what he meant to me, I lost a true friend.”

It is recently that the Board Meeting was held in Madagascar. The meeting was chaired by Ole Naiko who was also expressed shock on hearing of the demise after arrival in Tanzania from Madagascar.
