Raila Odinga sets up a meeting in Tanzania for CORD

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) will hold a meeting at a hotel in Arusha, Tanzania with governors and senators allied to the Opposition to heal the rifts between the two sides and forge unity for its "Okoa Kenya" referendum bid.

This will be followed by a similar one for MCAs in the Opposition's strongholds as it begins a charm offensive to bolster support and fight off Jubilee's onslaught. CORD Principals, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula have convened the three-day retreat scheduled for September 13 to 15.

All the 24 governors and 27 senators allied to CORD have been invited. The meeting will come days after CORD begins its nationwide rallies to popularise the referendum, set to commence next Tuesday in Mombasa. According to the invite seen by The Standard, the forum is set to discuss co-operation between governors and senators on the referendum quest.
