NIPASHE ilielezwa na baadhi ya wananchi kuwa vijana waliomaliza elimu ya msingi wanapewa mafunzo ya muda mfupi kazini ya utabibu ili wajitolee kuhudumia wagonjwa katika juhudi za kukabiliana na ukosefu wa wauguzi na madaktari.

US Judge upholds ban on elephant trophies import from Tanzania

There will be no forgetting this: A federal judge on Friday declined to lift a moratorium on the importation of sport-hunted African elephant trophies from Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

In a 12-page decision, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson rejected pleas by Safari Club International for a preliminary injunction that would lift the moratorium imposed by the Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Fish and Wildlife Service announced the import suspension, lasting through 2014, in early April. Officials cited a “significant decline” in the elephant population, and cited in Tanzania “questionable management practices, a lack of effective law enforcement and weak governance” that has led to “in uncontrolled poaching.”

Undernutrition among HIV-positive children can be ameliorated if they are given adequate foods in the right frequency and diversity.

Food insecurity is known to undermine such efforts, but even in food rich areas, people have undernutrition. As yet no study has examined feeding practices and their associations with nutrition status among as HIV-positive children in regions with high food production. 

This study examined the magnitude of undernutrition and its association with feeding practices among HIV-positive children in a high food production region in Tanzania.

Tanzanian tour operators, cars banned in Kenya

According to the Kenya News agency, Kenya’s Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) has banned Tanzania’s tour operators and vehicles from taking visitors to Kenya’s game reserves and parks -- reports The Citizen.

The move by TRA is in response to a similar action by Tanzanian tourism authorities, whom it accused of deliberately locking out Kenyan tour operators from key reserves and parks. However, Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) told The Citizen on Saturday, that the move was in compliance with Tanzania’s regulations providing that such services be conducted within each country’s boundaries. --- click here to read more.
