Wananchi wa jimbo la Ulanga wamemchagua mtoto wa kwanza wa aliyekuwa Waziri wa Nchi, Ofisi ya Rais Menejimenti ya Utumishi wa Umma, Celina Ompeshi Kombani (56), Goodluck Mlinga (32) kuwa mbunge wa jimbo hilo kwa kipindi cha miaka mitano baada ya kushinda katika uchaguzi mdogo uliofanyika Novemba 22 mwaka huu.

Mbunge huyo wa jimbo la Ulanga aliwashinda wapinzani wake katika uchaguzi mdogo wa ubunge baada ya kupata kura 25,902 huku mgombea wa CHADEMA, Pancras Ikongoli alikapata kura 10,592. wakati wa ACT-Wazalendo Issaya Maputa akipata kura 626.

Goodluck Asaph alizaliwa Februar 27 mwaka 1982 Morogoro mjini na kupata elimu ya msingi katika shule ya Ukwama mwaka 1990-1996 Mahenge huku akijiunga na kidato cha kwanza mwaka 1997 hadi 2000 katika shule ya sekondari Pugu Dar es Salaam wakati kidato cha tano na sita akihitimu elimu hiyo katika sekondari ya Kigurunyemba mwaka 2002 hadi 2004 mjini Morogoro.

Mlinga pia amehitimu elimu ya chuo kikuu cha Mzumbe kilichopo wilayani Mvomero kwa shahada ya utawala mwaka 2005 hadi 2008 wakati Astashahada ya Sheria ya Upatanishi na Ushuluhisho ya Chuo cha Ustawi wa Jamii kwa mwaka 2010 hadi 2012 jijini Dar es Salaam.

“Baada ya kupata elimu hiyo nilianza kazi kama afisa Tawala wizara ya Maendeleo ya Jamii kwa mwaka 2012-2013 na mwaka 2013 hadi mwaka 2015 nilifanya kazi mfuko wa bima ya taifa ya afya kama Afisa Matekelezo.”alisema Mlinga.

“Mama alikuwa na mipango mingi ya maendeleo katika jimbo hili la Ulanga, moja ya mipango hiyo kujenga chuo kipya cha Ufundi Stadi (VETA) ili kiweze kutoa elimu ya ufundi kwa wanafunzi waliokosa kuendelea na elimu kwa ngazi mbalimbali kuanzia wale wa darasa la saba, kidato cha nne na kuendeleo.”alisema Mlinga.

Goodluck Asaph Mlinga (32) amefunga ndoa na mkewa Emma Mhezi miaka michache iliyopita na kupata watoto wawili, Glory Goodluck Mlinga (5) na Mathew Goodluck Mlinga huku akiwa na wadogo zake Godfrey Mlinga, Lucy Damas, Joely Damas na Shaban.

The School of Global Studies (SGS) is advertising a doctoral studentship in environmental social science. Environmental social science at SGS is an interdisciplinary subject that is organized as joint faculty PhD-program, incorporating advisors, lecturers and researchers from different social science disciplines. Substantively research in ESS analyses causes, effects, and solutions in relation to environmental change and unsustainable natural resource use in the context of both the global north and south.

The focus of ESS is to develop an understanding of how various social scientific disciplines can be combined to grasp the complexity of current environmental problems, both theoretically and methodologically. It is thus developed at the interface between social and behavioral disciplines. Given the complexity of the topic, ESS can also include relevant insights from the humanities and ecological sciences, and the combination of scientific and non-scientific expertise in applied and transdisciplinary approaches.

Current research in environmental social science at SGS includes (but is not limited to) critical analysis of natural resource use and governance, studies of the institutional dynamics of environmental change, as well as the development and application of transdisciplinary approaches in relation to the sustainability challenges posed by urbanization.

Job assignments

The aim of the doctoral studentship is for the doctoral student to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to conduct research autonomously within environmental social science and to contribute to the development of knowledge within the discipline through the production of a scholarly thesis. Another aim is for the doctoral student to develop an ability to later apply the acquired knowledge and skills within post-degree research or other professional work.

The doctoral studentship is a fully payed position limited to 4 years in duration and is carried out on a full-time basis unless there are acceptable reasons to the contrary (minimum 50%). The position may include departmental duties corresponding to up to 20% of a full-time post over the course of study. If such tasks are required, the duration of the appointment will be extended accordingly.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the position, the applicant must meet both general and specific entry requirements.
An applicant meets the general entry requirements for third-cycle studies if he/she has obtained (Higher Education Ordinance Ch.7, Sec.39):

1.a degree at the second-cycle level,
2.at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 must be at the second-cycle level, or

2.a project draft of maximum 2000 words stating the applicant?s research interest(s) and planned focus area of his/her doctoral thesis. In addition, the project draft must demonstrate familiarity with previous and current research as well as an ability to formulate scientific problems.

The selection process will furthermore include interviews.

Admission to third-cycle studies may also be granted within a framework where the University of Gothenburg does not serve as employer (external position, so-called samverkansdoktorand). The assessment process for these applicants is the same as for other applicants. A special agreement will be developed in these cases.

Social Anthropology at School of Global Studies, Gothenburg University, is pleased to announce one Ph.D. position. Research in Social Anthropology at School of Global Studies covers a diversity of areas, which in different ways touch upon social and cultural processes. Climate issues, migration, religion, gender, cultural heritage, technology, economy, health and indigenous peoples are examples of some of the topics researchers and teachers are engaged in. The Centre of African Studies invites applications for two Visiting Research Fellowships from candidates in all the disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.

The aim of the Fellowships is to enable the fellows to focus on a period of research and writing in Cambridge. Preference will be given to early- to mid-career candidates with a distinguished research profile. They are expected to be permanent residents in Africa.

The appointments will take place from 1 October 2016 – 31 March 2017 and are non-renewable. Each award is worth up to £14,000; out of which travel, college accommodation, maintenance costs and medical insurance will be paid by the Centre on behalf of the fellow.

Peace and Development Research at the University of Gothenburg is a leading site of interdisciplinary and action-oriented enquiry. The 50 researchers in the subject group take a broad range of approaches to peace and development, including but not limited to conflict research, critical security studies, gender analysis, human rights, global political economy, regional studies, and resistance studies. While proposals in any of these areas are welcome, for the 2016 studentships we are particularly interested to recruit researchers with interests in questions of development and/or global political economy.

Job assignments

The aim of doctoral studies is to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct autonomous research within the field of peace and development. The studentship culminates in the production of dissertation which makes a significant original contribution to knowledge. Mwisho, kwa mamlaka niliyonayo, nimemsimamisha kazi Karim Majaliwa - Mkurugenzi wa Utawala wa BAKWATA Makao Makuu, kwa ajili ya kupisha uchunguzi juu ya kadhia ya magari 82, pamoja na tuhuma za matumizi mabaya ya ofisi.
