The Night Manager is responsible for ensuring that all daily reports are generated, daily revenues are balanced, express checkouts are processed efficiently and guests needing assistance during the shift are accommodated. The Night Manager will provide the management team with accurate and reliable information needed to make effective operational decisions.

What will I be doing?
  • Prioritize job functions in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy of all numbers reported including statistics.
  • Input and update financial information into corporate communications network.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual data processing system functions as required.
  • Keep management abreast of any unusual operational or financial events and/or deviations of policies or procedures.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • This job requires performing as a Duty Manager in the night.
  • Check guests in and out.
  • Handle and take reservations.
  • Handle guest’s special requests and customer complaints during shift.
  • Perform all other front desk duties and responsibilities.
  • Investigate and handle complaints, disturbances, emergencies, etc. during shift.
  • Perform some Night Audit functions, able to review all Night Audit related functions and able to produce Night Audit reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of Night Audit month-end reports, including in-house movie reports, house account summary, phone summary, etc.
  • Interview, train, supervise and develop Night Audit staff, including coaching, counselling and discipline.
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute reports as required.
  • Handle special guest requests.
  • Monitor and prepare Night Audit reports in accordance with Wyndham’s requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines, i.e.
  • Attend and contribute to periodic meetings to maintain favourable working relationships among employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by management.

To successfully fill this role, you should possess the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
  • Min of 2 years experience in a similar role within an upscale brand / 4 or 5 star hotels.
  • Previous working experience in Tanzania/Africa.
  • Bachelor or Master Diploma in Business Administration/ Hotel Management or equivalent.
  • Possess strong commercial acumen, with experience in increasing profitability.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A team player, someone that is pro-active and acts with integrity.
  • Proficient in English language and preferred in Swahili language.
