Role Background

As a Business Analyst, you will be an integral member of a service delivery team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve problems, improve performance, and generate value for our clients across a broad base of industries. You will have opportunities to create an impact and assume ownership of client deliverables, ranging from updating an organization’s IT model to better align with their enterprise strategy, development of technology strategy, participating in project management of technology implementations, help clients manage and leverage disruptive innovations, delivering technology solutions that help drive transformation, improve productivity and streamline business operations. You can capitalize on our cross industry presence to find your niche and build your individual brand within the organization.

The Team

Our Technology Advisory team plays a major role in directly embedding technology insights into our clients’ organizational goals. At Deloitte, our technology consultants create sharply-focused solutions within an organization’s operating model, accounting for its people, intellectual capital, technology, and processes. Engagement teams at Deloitte drive value for our clients but also understand the importance of developing resources and contributing to the communities in which we work. Business Analyst responsibilities will include the following:
  • Ensure availability of accurate and timely data on assigned tasks as required including using available knowledge sources optimally;
  • Ensure assigned work is completed within agreed time frames and carried out per approved methodologies and standards and within agreed budgets;
  • Learn and apply Deloitte standards, procedures and methodologies on assignments;
  • Assist in developing recommendations for corrective action/improvement;
  • Keep the engagement manager updated on any issues arising from the assignment;
  • Assist the department with day to day administrative tasks for the receivership/liquidation assignments and also departmental administration tasks such as filing and updating of client files;
  • Ensure that all client working papers are filed per approved guidelines and all client files are continually updated;
  • Develop and manage good client relations producing outputs which meet client and Firm expectations/standards;
  • Market the Firm with the aim of maintaining and winning new business;
  • Keep abreast with technical developments in the profession and the country, in order to anticipate client needs, and offer value added and practical business solutions;
  • Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department; and
  • Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Be a Tanzanian citizen;
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or in any other related field;
  • At least an Upper Second class degree or equivalent;
  • Division 1 in 'A' Level or equivalent;
  • Division 1 in 'O' Level (with a minimum of B in both English and Mathematics) or equivalent;
  • Demonstrate strong communication, numerical and analytical skills;
  • Be willing to work under supervision and learn new skills quickly;
  • Be results oriented and able to meet tight deadlines; and
  • Advanced Excel Skills is an added advantage.
