Nine Tanzanian startups are vying to represent the country at the 2016 edition of Slush Global Impact Accelerator (GIA), a program to support startups that are looking to solve some of the most pressing global challenges -- reports techloy.com.
10 startups were selected to pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to make it to the next and final round of the selection process following calls for applications.
On August 10 at the Buni Innovation Hub, the startups pitched to a panel of judges, who selected 9 for the next round.
The nine startups are Guavay, STIC Lab, ROGECH, Millenium Engineers, Vipi Mteja, Eco Act, Eco Technologies, Rustic Pay and Madawa Mart.
The nine startups will be contacted by the Selection Committee for an interview. The Selection Committee will select the startup that’ll represent Tanzania at the global event.
Slush Global Impact Accelerator will take place from November 22 – December 2, 2016 in Helsinki, Finland.
The program was created in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and multiple partners globally. The first edition took place last year.
