TCU extends Applications for Admission for academic year 2016/2017 through the 5th

TCU wishes to inform the General Public and all prospective applicants for admission into various undergraduate degree programmes that they will start lodging their applications for admission into higher education institutions for the 2016/2017 academic year through the Central Admission System on, 20th July 2016.

Also TCU extended the deadline for receiving applications for applicants who wish to sit for RPL examination has been extended for one week from 1st to 5th August 2016.

Woman stabbed, slashed, hands chopped off for 'being infertile'


BBC News -- Kenya's Daily Nation newspaper is leading with a story of a woman, Jackline Mwende, who was assaulted allegedly by her husband and had her hands chopped off because she "could not conceive".

The paper reports that the husband has been charged in connection with the violence.

He has made no comment.

Ms Mwende is said to have been advised by her local pastor to stay in the relationship despite having been the victim of abuse.

The Daily Nation also reports that the a doctor's report had found the man to be infertile.

Polisi Iringa yaanza msako wa wacheza bao, wanywa pombe asubuhi

Jeshi la polisi mkoa wa Iringa limeendelea na utekelezaji wa agizo la Rais John Magufuli la kuwakamata wote wanaokunywa pombe asubuhi na wale wanaoshinda vijiweni wakiwemo wacheza bao asubuhi.

Msako huo umepokelewa kwa hisia tofauti kwa baadhi ya wananchi wa mji wa Iringa kutaka msako huo usiwakamate wauza pombe asubuhi kwa madai kuwa ni kazi yao inayowaingizia kipato na huku baadhi wakitaka wanywa pombe asubuhi wasikamatwe kwa kuwa wao ni wahitaji.

Wakizungumza na MtukioDaimaBlog baadhi ya wananchi ambao hawakupenda majina yao kuanikwa hapa walisema sehemu kubwa ya watu wamekuwa wakijishughulisha na biashara ya kuuza pombe na hivyo kuwakamata ni kutowatendea haki.

Baadhi ya wanywaji wamedai kukamatwa kwao ni kuwaonea kwani ilipaswa wakamatwe wauzaji.

Siku za hivi karibuni MtukioDaimaBlog imeshuhudia kazi nzuri inayofanywa na jeshi la polisi kwa kuwakamata wale wote wanaokunywa ama kuuza pombe asubuhi, ikiwa ni utekelezaji wa agizo la Rais.

Muhimbili kutumia mitandao ya simu, kadi za benki kwa malipo ya huduma za tiba

HOSPITALI ya Taifa Muhimbili (MNH) inatarajia kuanza kutumia mitandao ya simu, kadi maalimu na kadi za benki kwa ajili ya kulipia huduma za matibabu ili kudhibiti changamoto za upotevu wa fedha na wizi katika ukusanyaji wa mapato ya hospitali hiyo.

Mpango wa kutumia njia za kieletroniki umelenga kukusanya mapato zaidi ili kuiwezesha hospitali hiyo kukabiliana na changamoto mbalimbali za uendeshaji na kutoa huduma bora kwa wagonjwa.

Lengo la hospitali hiyo ni kuongeza mapato na kupunguza matumizi na kutengeneza mazingira ya kujiendesha na kutoa huduma bora kwa wagonjwa mbalimbali nchini.

Kwa mujibu wa taarifa iliyotolewa na Mkuu wa Kitengo cha Mawasiliano kwa Umma na Huduma kwa Wateja, Bwana Aminiel Aligaesha, hospitali hiyo imelenga pia kuimarisha njia za ukusanyaji mapato ili kuboresha huduma za matibabu na kuboresha maslahi kwa wafanyakazi.
“Hospitali imelenga kuboresha wadi za kulaza wagonjwa wanaohitaji huduma na malazi binafsi, kuhakikisha wagonjwa wanachangia huduma za matibabu na kuboresha mfumo wa kuandaa hati za madai kwa kampuni na mifuko ya Taifa ya bima ya afya.
“Hospitali imekusudia kutoa motisha na kuwahamasisha madaktari kuwaona wagonjwa kwa wingi wanaolipia huduma ili kuwavutia kutibiwa katika hospitali hii,” imesema taarifa hiyo.
Taarifa hiyo imeeleza kwamba hospitali hiyo imedhamiria pia kutoa motisha kwa wafanyakazi wengine ili kuongeza ufanisi katika maeneo yao ya kazi.

Katika hatua nyingine, hospitali hiyo imeweka mikakati ya kupunguza gharama za kununua dawa na vifaa tiba kutoka viwandani (Manufacturers) moja kwa moja.
“Kwa mfano, baada ya kupata kibali kutoka TFDA, Hospitali imenunua dawa za figo (immunosuppressant) kutoka India kwa Sh 226 milioni wakati hapa nchini zingegharimu Sh 500 milioni,” imeeleza sehemu ya taarifa hiyo.
Pia, hospitali hiyo imeagiza nyuzi za kushonea wagonjwa (sutures) kutoka kiwandani (Ethicon) kwa gharama ya Sh 321 milioni wakati zingegharimu Sh 668 milioni endapo zingenunuliwa nchini.

Katika taarifa hiyo imebainisha kuwa hospitali hiyo imeweza kupunguza gharama za uchujaji wa damu (dialysis) kutoka wastani wa Sh 250,000 kwa kila zamu (session) hadi kufikia Sh171,000.
