Upon the concept of the founder of the Matsumae International Foundation (MIF), “Towards A Greater Understanding of Japan and a Lasting World Peace”, MIF has started the Research Fellowship Program in 1980.

“2018 Research Fellowship Program” has been released. The deadline of application is August 31st, 2017.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Applicants of non-Japanese nationality; a Doctorate degree; must be 49 years old or under; not have been in Japan previously; have firm positions and professions in their home nations; etc.
  • Host Institution In Japan:
  • Applicants are free to select host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions or the corresponding facilities of private industry)
  • Fellowship Details:
  • Stipend for research and stay, Insurance, Air transportation (a round-trip air ticket to/from Tokyo) and Lump sum on arrival
  • Period & Number of Fellowships:
  • For a period of from three to six months; the number of fellowships is about 20 persons each year.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s degree or higher in public health or a related social science field.
  • Experience and/or deep understanding of programs based on the World Health Organization-recommended End TB Strategy.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with key international TB initiatives and organizations.
  • Familiarity with current and up-to-date tools related to MDR TB.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Job: Finance and Administration Officer

Reporting to the Country Director, you will:

  • Ensure adherence to accounting procedures and systems, and internal controls.
  • Take an active role in the preparation of budgets and monitoring of budget expenditure.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for the Country Director and the Finance Manager in UK
  • Analyse the country programme’s cash needs and prepare requests for cash transfers.
  • Manage the general office book-keeping.

  • Maintain and safe guard the fixed assets and current assets of Sense International (TZ).

Job at the WB: Senior Agriculture Economist - Tanzania

The primary responsibility of the Senior Agriculture Economist/Specialist will be to provide technical and strategic support to the development and implementation of GFADR’s work program in Tanzania (and other countries in the Country Management Unit, including Burundi, Malawi and Somalia). The Senior Agriculture Economist/Specialist will report to the GFADR Practice Manager in charge of South and Eastern Africa, who is based at World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC, and assist him in the delivery of the work program, assurance of quality, interaction with internal and external clients, including the government and private sector, and partnerships across the countries in the Country Management Unit.

In addition, the Senior Agriculture Economist/Specialist will work under the day to day oversight of the incumbent GFADR Sr. Agriculture Specialist and the relevant Program Leader, who are based in Dar es Salaam.
