Call for applications: Governance for Development in Africa Initiative

The Centre of African Studies at SOAS, University of London, is pleased to announce the extension of the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, funded by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, for another five years, until 2018. The focus of the project remains the same in terms of creating a dedicated environment to support Africans to study the socio-economic, political, and legal links between governance and development.

The continuing support of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation aims to enable Africans to improve the quality of governance in their countries by building their skills within an expert academic environment.

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation’s £1.5 million gift will fund four dedicated programmes at SOAS: 3 Masters scholarships annually; 1 PhD scholarship annually; 1 Residential School in Africa annually; and the Governance conversations series (www.governanceinafrica.org).
