Job Description:

The Team Leader will
  • Provide advisory services to VETA on the establishment of career centres and/or curriculum development of short courses as well as sustainability of short courses and career centres

  • Coordinate processes in regard to industry partners on identification of skills needs and set up of cooperation for short courses
  • Carry out project management functions such as:

Program Tanzania:

In Tanzania, SolidarMed implements a thriving health program consisting of three pillars: (1) Quality of care at hospitals and decentralized health facilities with focus on maternal and child health, HIV and TB; (2) Human resources for health: preservice and in-service training, upgrading, retention measures; (3) Community based health program focusing on pregnant women and children.

Within its country program, SolidarMed promotes implementation research to inform policy dialogue and knowledge exchange.

The position comprises both the management of the project “Support to Edgar Maranta School of Nursing” (ca. 50% of working time) and the coordination of the country program (ca. 50% of working time).

Key responsibilities as country coordinator:
  • Assume overall responsibility for the coordination, monitoring, budgeting, reporting and annual planning of the country program
  • Provide strategic and public health guidance and leadership to the program

2018 United Nations Regional Course in International Law for Africa

The application process for the 2018 United Nations Regional Course for Africa is now open.

General information

The 2018 United Nations Regional Course in International Law for Africa is organized by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs in cooperation with Ethiopia, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Union.

The Regional Course will be held at the facilities of the ECA in Addis Ababa, from 5 February to 2 March 2018. The Regional Course will be conducted in English. The course will accommodate up to 35 participants.

Applications for the 2018 Regional Course for Africa are currently being accepted. The deadline for applications is 20 October 2017.
