Research Fellow - LSHTM/GSK Collaboration Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology

LSHTM/GSK - We are very excited to announce a Research Fellow vacancy for an epidemiologist or statistician to work on research into the effects of prescribed drugs, using large datasets of electronic health records. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work on the analysis of data from large-scale UK electronic health records and specialist cohorts within a large and thriving research group. The post is funded by GlaxoSmithKline as part of a collaboration between the Epidemiology group at GSK and the Electronic Health Records research group at LSHTM. The research will involve working face to face with scientists at both LSHTM and GSK and will appeal to a candidate with an interest in both academia and industry. A broad range of research topics are being explored in the collaboration. These include the use of historic controls for contemporary studies of drug effects, finding better ways to determine analysis strategies in the face of complex prescribing records and safety signal detection using routine care data.
