Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics Supplementary Scholarships

Background: A unique opportunity is available for outstanding PhD scholars to conduct research in the area medicinal potential of cannabis and the cannabinoids at the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre.

The research will be focused on the development and evaluation of cannabinoid-based treatments.

We are looking to support a wide range of first-year PhD projects that involve the development and evaluation of cannabis-based treatments across the following areas:
  • preclinical and/or clinical
  • medicinal and/or analytical chemistry
  • electrophysiology
  • high throughput screening
  • animal and cellular models of disease
  • human psychopharmacology
  • drug policy
  • clinical trials
Open to:
  1. Applicants must have unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a PhD at the University of Sydney Brain and Mind Centre and must not have completed more than one year of full-time study. 
  2. A pplicants must have an honours or Masters degree in medicine, pharmacy or Science. 
  3. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in cannabinoid research. 
  4. Applicants should also have preclinical or clinical research experience.
  5. Applicants must also be in recipient of a primary scholarship from the University of Sydney that provides stipend allowance.
Value and Duration:

The Scholarship will provide an annual stipend supplementary allowance of $10,000 per annum (fixed rate) for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

A six month extension is possible.
