UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme - 2017

The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transition.

In line with the strategy and objectives of the approved UNESCO Programme and Budget for the Fellowships Programme Section, the UNESCO Category II International Center for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow (Russian Federation) is offering twenty (20) fellowships of four weeks (4) duration each in 2017.
Field of Study

One month duration: from 2 to 27 October 2017.

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) :

(a) Energy and sustainable development;
(b) Ecological management of energy resources;
(c) Renewable energy;
(d) Sustainable and renewable energy power generation.

Youth of Excellence Scheme of China (YES China)——Master Program Chinese Government Scholarship (2017/2018)

To promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and other countries, and to provide education opportunities to the youths worldwide who enjoy good potentials in their career development, the Chinese Government established the “Scholarship for Youth of Excellence Scheme of China——Master Program (YES CHINA)” with the aim of providing financial support to the outstanding youth coming to China to pursue a Master’s degree. 

For the academic year 2017/2018, the Ministry of Education, P. R. China will entrust 7 leading Chinese universities such as Peking University with 8 Master’s degree programs, namely The Master of Laws (LL.M.) Program in Chinese Law, International Program on Master of Public Health (IMPH), Master of International Economic Cooperation, Master of China Studies, The LL.M Program in International Economic Law,MBA Program, AIIB Master of International Finance, Master of One-Belt-Road Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering. The programs duration will be one year or two years (1+1), and will be open to applicants from 56 developing countries.

As head of section, direct, lead, manage a group of professional and support staff in order to successfully develop, manage and administer the sectoral or inter-sectoral project/programme.

This will involve:
  • Timely sectoral analysis, input and guidance provided for the Situation Analysis, and its periodic update completed for effective programme planning, development and management.
  • UNICEF's global goals effectively promoted through advocacy and policy dialogue in the Child Protection sector.
  • Technical leadership and coordination provided to key Child Protection programme/ project documents, reports, plan of action, and targeted training/learning programmes, ensuring promotion of effective knowledge management.
  • Sectoral work plan and activities formulated, implemented and monitored, ensuring alignment with the defined project strategies and approaches. Gender/sex disaggregated data and inputs provided relevant to the Child Protection programme provided.
  • Programme delivery, evaluation and reporting carried out efficiently, rigorously and transparently in compliance with the established guidelines and procedures.
  • UNICEF and Government accountability properly and timely ensured regarding supply and non-supply assistance, as well as disbursement of programme funds for the Child Protection sector.
  • Effective communication and networking achieved through partnership and collaboration.
