Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund Scholarships for AY 2017/18

The Fund grants Scholarships to best female Tanzanian students to pursue Undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Science in Tanzania’s accredited universities. It is also partly used to sponsor both male and female Tanzanians top students to pursue undergraduate studies in Economics, Information Technology, Accounting and Finance as well as best students intending to pursue Master’s programmes in those fields.

Qualifications

Essential:
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Five years management experience, as head or senior member of humanitarian or development programme/organisation
  • Experienced with conflict related displacement issues
  • Good communicator and proven diplomacy with all types of stakeholders
  • Proven commitment to accountable practices and knowledgeable of quality assurance systems
  • Hands on experience in managing staff in insecure locations and strong human resource management skills in general.
  • Experience of managing budgets and multiple donor contracts
  • Experience in donor contact, fundraising and networking.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English required;
Preferable:
  • Experienced with conflict related displacement issues
  • Experience related to conflict mitigation and armed violence reduction programming

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience in management of education programs in emergencies, INGO experience required;
  • Strong program/technical and budget management acumen as well as planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties;
  • Proven technical writing skills;
  • Proposal writing acumen and experience;
  • Must be capable of applying his/her skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, advisory functions, training and the transfer of technical knowledge and management skills to others;
  • Interpersonal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure with professional grace;

UTAMU 10 Masters Scholarships for September Intake


The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is offering partial scholarships to 10 students interested in studying Masters in Monitoring and Evaluation and Master of Science in Computing.

The RUFORUM partial Scholarship will be for ONLY one year and will contain the following;
  • Half Functional Fees for One year (amounting to 300,000/=)
  • Tuition Fees for One year (amounting to 3,400,000/=). The first installment will be paid in Year 1 Semester 1 and the last installment to be paid in Year 2 Semester 1.
As a beneficiary of the partial scholarship, one will be expected to pay the following fees which are outside the offer:-
  • Half Functional Fees for One year (amounting to 300,000/=)
  • National Council for Higher Education fees (20,000/= per annum)
  • Guild Fees (25,000/= per annum)
As part of the admission requirements, one will be required to submit A CONCEPT PAPER as requirement for admission.

Please note further that to benefit from the scholarship, one will be expected to comply with the following conditions that come with the RUFORUM partial Scholarship:
  • Write a research paper at the end of your Master programme as a key output and shall be recognized by RUFORUM
  • Complete the programme within not more than 2 years.

The CD will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the FEED program activities and operations in Tanzania towards achieving organizational vision, mission and promise. Sir Halley Stewart Trust African MSc Palliative Care Scholarship

The MSc in Palliative Care is open to doctors, nurses, and health and social care professionals working with patients with advanced disease, or relevant health or social scientistswho have an upper second class honours degree or equivalent.

To apply for the scholarship you mustfulfil allthe following criteria:
  1. You must have afirst degree in medicine, nursing, allied health professions, life sciences, social sciences or other relatedsubject awarded by a United Kingdom university or a recognised overseas university. 
  2. You must be currently workingin palliative care or palliative medicine in Africa –in clinical or social care,in practice or research. 
  3. You must be able to achieve the English Language test standards required by King’s College London. This is currently assessed using IELTS scores, and a satisfactory score is 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in all four skills. 
  4. You must be a citizen of an African country and currently resident in Africa.
  5. There is no known reason why you should not be eligible for a UK studentVisa.
Students who have previously attended for the PG Certificate or PG Diploma are also eligible to apply for funding to complete the MSc.
